This is my primary email account which I am reluctant to use since I don't want to spread this virus. Suggestions as to what steps to take to remove this will be greatly appreciated. I have a screen shot of the Norton report but have not attached that as it reports what is written above. I ran the DDS and have attached the file. I ran MBAM and it didn't find that although it found some other files that I deleted that seemd unrelated. It was also found in the recyclebin on an earlier scan but after emptying the recycle bin, it wasn't found there any longer. It also references the location as the default profile of Thunderbird's inbox.Īll of the above are compressed files and the only Norton fix is to delete the inbox which is not my preferred fix as I don't want to lose those emails. Although I can no longer see the original email in either the inbox or trash folder, Norton still reports the following as threats: The trash folder has been subsequently emptied. I only view my emails in plain text not html and since I didn't recognize the sender I immediately trashed this email. The subject was "PO Details and Specifications". A week or so ago I had a suspicious email make it into my inbox.
